About Keyhealth’s Options
Keyhealth is an open medical aid scheme that offers six regular plans, with no capitated plans. The plans are listed in order of price to make comparison easier for prospective members. Each plan comes with a range of benefits, which can be seen by clicking on the plan name.
The Essence Plan is the most basic and affordable option offered by Keyhealth, costing R1 697 for adults and R1 360 for children under 18 years old per month. It has access to network hospitals only, but provides cover for some specialist consultations as well as chronic medications and dentistry care.
The Origin Plan costs slightly more than the Essence Plan at R 1 939/month for an adult and R 1 381/month for a child; however it offers enhanced coverage on hospital treatments such as surgery and day-to-day benefits like GP visits and medication dispensing fees. This plan also has access to network hospitals only.
The Equilibrium Plan increases the level of cover significantly compared to the previous two options – costing R 2 368/month per adult or R 1 463/month per child – with increased cover on major treatments such Silver includes cover such as organ transplants and advanced radiology procedures whilst still maintaining access to network hospitals only..
Moving up in terms of cost we come across three other premium plans: Silver (R 4 084/adult & 2 197/child), Gold (5 977 /adult & 4 042 /child) , Platinum (9 264 /adult & 6 747 /child). These higher priced options offer extensive coverage including out-of-hospital expenses like home nursing care, psychiatric services etc., along with comprehensive hospital treatment coverage from both networked providers as well non-networked providers – all without co payments or limits imposed on certain claims.
